Paula A. Veale
Executive Vice President

As Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications for The Advertising Council, Paula Veale oversees all internal and external communications for the national non-profit public service leader.

In her current position, Ms. Veale is responsible for overseeing all aspects of public relations, social media, interactive services and government affairs for the Ad Council and its more than 50 public service advertising (PSA) campaigns, as well as directing all special events, including the Ad Council's annual fundraising dinner which raised more than $2.8 million for the organization in 2010.

Ms. Veale joined the Ad Council in 1987 and has served in many positions within the organization during her long and successful tenure. In fact, her valuable experience includes working alongside three of the organization's four presidents. Her expertise includes public affairs, strategic counseling, program development, press relations (including national press launches and White House events), organizational management, board relations, fundraising, crisis management and special events. Ms. Veale frequently serves as the organization's spokesperson.

Since becoming Executive Vice President in 2000, Ms. Veale has enhanced the organization's communications capabilities. In addition, she has greatly enhanced the success of the organization's PSA campaigns by integrating public and media relations as well as social media programs into the public service advertising campaigns.  Coverage of the organization and its individual campaigns has grown exponentially under her leadership, exposing the Ad Council's critical messages to millions of Americans.

Ms. Veale has served on numerous boards and committees including The Ad Club of New York's ANDY Committee, The American Cancer Society of New York's Communications and Marketing Advisory Committee, the Advisory Committee of The Strang Cancer Prevention Center's Child Health Initiative and the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF). She is a graduate of Sweet Briar College, Sweet Briar, Virginia.

She currently resides in New York City with her husband, Dan McGiffin and son. 


Ellyn Fisher
Vice President, Public Relations and Social Media

As Vice President of Public Relations and Social Media for The Advertising Council, Ellyn Fisher works to promote the non-profit organization and its more than 50 public service advertising (PSA) campaigns to the advertising, media and philanthropy communities, as well as the campaigns' key target audiences and the general public. Ms. Fisher also works with Ad Council campaign sponsors on public relations and social media activities relating to their campaigns.

Ms. Fisher writes and edits press materials, and is responsible for press relations and social media outreach conducted on behalf of both the Ad Council and its campaigns. She also counsels Ad Council campaign managers and the organization's non-profit and federal government agency sponsors on public relations and social media activities and opportunities designed to extend the reach of the campaigns. Examples of the activities Ms. Fisher conducts include special events, targeted press outreach, satellite TV and radio media tours, blog outreach, word-of-mouth marketing and social networking site outreach and engagement. In addition, Ms. Fisher develops the content for several Ad Council publications, including the organization's Annual Report. Other responsibilities include speechwriting, and conducting informational presentations about the Ad Council to students and visiting foreign dignitaries.

Prior to joining the Ad Council in July 2001, Ms. Fisher worked at Middleberg Euro RSCG. Her clients included Lending Tree, Western Union and Reuters. Ms. Fisher has also worked at Baker Winokur Ryder, a division of Ogilvy & Mather that promotes celebrity talent, and at USA Networks.

Ms. Fisher is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and resides in Manhattan. She currently serves on the American Cancer Society's Communications and Marketing Advisory Board and on the board of the Penn State College of Communications Advertising/PR Alumni Network.


Beth Shanley
Director, Public Relations and Social Media 

As Director, Public Relations and Social Media Beth Shanley works to promote The Advertising Council and its more than 50 public service advertising (PSA) campaigns. Additionally, she helps to coordinate the Ad Council's special events, including the Annual Public Service Award Dinner, the organization's largest fundraiser which raised more than $2.8 million in 2010, and the Ad Council's Seminar Series, an educational seminar held bi-annually for non-profit organizations and federal government agencies.

Ms. Shanley's responsibilities as Director are broad and such as writing for several Ad Council publications, including the organization's Annual Report and Public Service Advertising Bulletin (PSAB). In addition, she is responsible for tracking and reporting on all press clippings and broadcast placements. Ms. Shanley also oversees all correspondence and updates with the Ad Council's historical archives.

Ms. Shanley graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. She currently resides in Manhattan. 


Lisa Cullen
Director, Public Relations and Social Media

As Director of Public Relations and Social Media, Lisa Cullen works on all aspects of public relations and social media to promote The Advertising Council and its more than 50 public service advertising (PSA) campaigns to the advertising, media and philanthropy communities, as well as to the general public.

Ms. Cullen responsibilities includes the creation and implementation of PR and social media strategies and the management of all of the program elements, including Bites & B-Roll packages, Satellite and Radio Media Tours, grassroots marketing and social media programs. 

Prior to joining the Ad Council in February 2003, Ms. Cullen worked at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, where she was responsible for managing all aspects of communications and media relations for communications team; including, corporate philanthropy partner public relations, Public Service Advertisement campaign planning & execution, special event management and media relations. Ms. Cullen has also worked at Burson-Marsteller where her clients included Accenture, American Water, BellSouth, Children's Scholarship Fund, the United States Treasury Department and Washington DC Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Ms. Cullen graduated from Roanoke College with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. She currently resides in Washington, DC.


Abigail Quesinberry
Manager, Public Relations and Social Media

As Manager of Public Relations and Social Media, Abigail Quesinberry works to promote the Ad Council and its more than 50 public service advertising (PSA) campaigns through traditional and social media. Ms. Quesinberry's responsibilities include the creation and implementation of PR and social media strategies that will engage the advertising, media and philanthropy communities, as well as the PSA campaigns' key target audiences.

Prior to joining the Ad Council in November 2011, Ms. Quesinberry worked in public relations at Sesame Workshop where she executed PR initiatives for the iconic children's television program Sesame Street, including activities surrounding the launch of its 42nd season. Before her stint at Sesame Workshop, Ms. Quesinberry worked in PR, communications and special events at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF galvanizing the public and raising awareness and funds on behalf of the world's most vulnerable children. She has also served in fundraising positions at Amnesty International and The Nature Conservancy.

Ms. Quesinberry graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies. She resides in Brooklyn, NY.
